About my life and what I'm looking for

Yikes! The logical, rational left part of my brain works very well. So I'm all about organizing, number crunching, and finances! But to use my right-brain to write something interesting, creative, and witty...I'd just as soon make a public appearance in my underwear!

OK. The "Helpful Hints" said to "start off with a bang." Hmmm...

- I have three great kids (25, 22, and 17) who are my pride and joy. We have a KU/K-State rivalry going on at home and it's NOT pretty! They are great kids that I enjoy spending time with.
- I have a very dry sense of humor. I usually have to explain my jokes. (And I can't retell a joke I've heard to save my soul.) So I do have a deep admiration for the witty!
- I love to go out and dance, and I can hold my own ok. But I would love to learn to swing dance! (In my next life I'm coming back as a Broadway dancer!)
- I enjoy going out for dinner, movies, dancing, sports, theater, concerts, art fairs, but I can also be happy just staying at home and hanging out.
- I love to travel and would really like to see more of the world.
- I'm passionate about teaching math, but it's the kids that give me the biggest kick. And so...
- ...trying to live my life with a purpose and volunteering more where my heart is--kids and education.
- I love to read, and can sit all day on the deck at the lake if I have a really good book. I also like to get a boat, a raft, and some Bon Jovi tunes (see below), and spend the afternoon in the water hanging with friends.
- I'm a crazy Bon Jovi fan! I can't explain it! But it is my one and only (ha ha!) fault. (I blame my obsession on genetics since my mom had the same passion for John Denver!) I do like classic rock, country, pop, alternative, as well--and I'm a sucker for live concerts!
- I'm a sports fan, both live and on TV. Like to watch and/or participate. (I have two Fantasy Football teams!)
- I'm a runner and have done several 5K's. Would love to train for a bigger run. I play volleyball and softball at times and I enjoy staying fit.
- If I feel strongly about someone or something, I'm loyal til the end.
- I like to do things that I enjoy obviously, but I'm also looking for new experiences, things that someone else enjoys that I've never had an opportunity to try. I'm excited about what lies ahead and really "living" my life--not just surviving it. I'm checking things off my bucket list!
- There's much more to me that can't be condensed to a 4000-word essay. (And I didn't do a very good job of condensing!) I've tried to highlight the big things, but the subtleties come by getting to know me.

I'm looking for that one someone to share my life with--a fun, happy, outgoing but quietly self-confident man to spend time with. If you're an intelligent, open-minded guy with a wicked sense of humor--someone who is sarcastic and quick-witted, who makes me laugh, you'll draw me in. Passion, romance, and making my tummy do flip-flops is a definite plus! It's not what we do, but the way we feel being together that's important.

Honesty and integrity are a must. This seems such a silly thing to say, but as I have gotten wiser (not older!), I realize the importance of these values in the way I live my own life.

So that wasn't too painful (OK, I'm lying, I have to be honest!) Believe it or not I hate writing!

Can't take credit for the headline--that's Erma Bombeck. Although...having fun, laughing, living, loving, (and a little heavy breathing!)...that's really what sharing life with that one special someone is all about!
