About my life and what I'm looking for

If there is one thing you should know about me, it is my love for music. I have yet to meet a person that disliked music, but my passion for it goes deeper than just liking a song or artist. Ever get a song stuck in your head to the point where you must listen to it in order to get on with life? I would say that happens to me almost daily.

Music has been such an important, influential part of my life. My fondest (and even not so awesome) memories are directly correlated to a song, artist or album. I love the entire music experience – hearing a song or artist for the first time, learning more about their style and sound, listening to an entire album or two with the ultimate finale is a live show. There is a certain energy about live music that I crave; ultimately, my ideal match would know what I am referring to and wants to share in the “rush.” We don’t have to like all the same music, just share in the appreciation and openness to the experience.

To further categorize my music tastes, I’d say I am a rock chick – a mix of classic, alternative and indie rock are constantly playing in the soundtrack of my life. A few live shows I’ve seen this year, in no particular order, include: Bon Jovi, Megadeath, The xx, MGMT, Vampire Weekend, The Temper Trap, Band of Horses, My Morning Jacket, and Silversun Pickups. I am open-minded, genuine, unique, fun, thoughtful, caring, and a fairly well-rounded gal. I like to go with the flow, take time to appreciate the simple pleasures in life and get the most out of every situation. I’m just as comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt as I am in a dress and heels.

I try to not take life too seriously and attempt to find the silver lining in all situations. My new take on life is to not see the glass has half empty or half full, but rather, hey at least there is something here, let’s see what we can do with it.

Laughter is a key ingredient to life. I have a bit of a dry, sarcastic personality. More often than not, I would say my humor aligns with many Frat Pack movies and failblog. I will challenge anyone to a quote-off to Old School, Anchorman, or Super Troopers.

My grandfather had a few prize sayings, one being ‘Say what you mean and mean what you say.’ This is important to me as I believe communication is key to any successful relationship. Another favorite was “Eat rice and be nice” but that was often used when my siblings and I were fighting. While somewhat on the topic, my family is very important to me. I am fortunate enough to live close to some and will always make time for them. At the end of the day, I know I will always their unconditional love and support. It isn’t necessary that you have the same type of relationship with your family, but it is important that you should be open to the idea of (un)traditional family values.

I tend to be drawn towards the right-brained, creative kind. I’m looking for someone with a bucket list and can’t wait to find the right person to share in the adventures it will surely unfold (regardless if said adventures are on the list). I'd like to meet someone who has an appetite for life, willingness to try to something new, finds roller coasters thrilling, and acknowledges that while sitting in traffic is the pits, with the right company, it can be priceless. Someone who thinks an awesome way to spend an afternoon is to sit on a park bench and people watch – creating amazing stories about the lives of those that pass by. Someone who will also just marvel in the sheer amazing randomness around us. Someone who cares about what they do for a living but doesn’t let it consume them. Someone who makes time for those that matter most.

In the end, I don't want you to complete me, but it would be nice if you compliment me.
